Muhammadu Sanusi II, the former Emir of Kano and the new caliph of the Tijaniyya sect in Nigeria, has stated that he has no plans to enter politics.
The former monarch said on Thursday, June 17 in Kaduna, that he will continue to educate the public on who candidates to vote for during elections.
He also stated that before the country’s problems could be handled, priority should be given to education, particularly for youngsters.
According to Sanusi,
“If we have people we trust who have vowed to work for the good of the country, we can band together and help them — this isn’t politics”.
“If we don’t teach our children to be successful, while others send their children to school, they will end up working for those who do, and that will be the end.”
