Put an End to Nigerian Banditry and Insecurity – Northern Governors Inform IGP

The Northern Governors’ Forum has urged Usman Baba, the Acting Inspector General of Police, to take concrete steps to combat insecurity in Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message to the acting IG sent on Saturday in Jos by his Director of Press and Public Affairs Dr. Makut Macham, the forum’s Chairman, Simon Lalong, said the forum would give Baba all the required support to allow him to protect the lives and assets of Nigerians.
Baba’s appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, he said, was well-deserved, given his long history of dedicated service to the nation.
“As northern governors, we remain committed to community policing and any other measures that will contribute to the stability of our country, which has been plagued by various forms of insecurity,” he said.
“We must collaborate to implement new policies that will enable us to solve these obstacles and stay on top of the situation by preventing criminals from carrying out their nefarious activities.”
The chairman of the forum urged the police chief to put an end to banditry, kidnapping, and insurgency in the country, noting that criminal activities have prevented many farmers in the region from cultivating their land.
